I’ve purchased the genie + for my family of 3. We have 2 more family members coming to Epcot for a day with us. Do they also need to purchase the genie + in order to do fast lanes with us? We don’t want to be split up on rides etc. Thanks for your help.

    Hello Dawn,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! Fall is a great time to visit Walt Disney World. The weather is still warm, the parks are a little less crowded, and you get to experience the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. Plus, you're going to love seeing Spaceship Earth illuminated in the evening, and watching Harmonious is a fantastic way to end your EPCOT day.

I'm happy to hear that you have Genie+ for your vacation. You'll find that it can really help you cut down on time spent waiting in lines for some of the most popular attractions, especially if you plan on visiting Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios. The standby lines for most of the attractions in EPCOT are generally pretty manageable, so if you do the most popular attractions, like Test Track, first thing in the morning, you may not need Genie+ during your EPCOT day.

Having said that, strolling through a Lightning Lane is almost always nicer than waiting in a standby line, even when the lines are short. I love being able to use Genie+ in EPCOT. If you decide that you want to use it on the day that your other family members will be joining you, they will need to purchase Genie+ as well. They can add that to their tickets the day of their visit if they've already purchased a ticket without adding Genie+. You'll just want to make sure you have all of your plans linked together ahead of time. Then on the day of their visit, they'll want to purchase Genie+ bright and early, so you can make your Lightning Lane selection for your entire party at 7:00 AM.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions while planning your magical vacation!

I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
