Welcome to planDisney, Adrienne!
Being a resident of the Sunshine State sure has its perks when it comes to visiting Walt Disney World! Mickey Mouse's Florida neighbors are eligible for exclusive discounts on resort stays, theme park tickets,
Annual Passes, and more. My parents live about two hours from Orlando and love to use their Disney Pixie Dust Passes to explore the theme parks on weekdays.
Unfortunately, Walt Disney World theme park tickets cannot be downgraded, so you are not able to receive a refund for the difference between your tickets and Florida Resident tickets. In the future, check
this page for special resident offers before finalizing a ticket purchase. One thing you might be able to do, depending on the type of ticket you have, is upgrade it to an Annual Pass. Several passes are available to Florida Residents, like the aforementioned Disney Pixie Dust Pass or Disney Pirate Pass. To upgrade your unexpired tickets, visit Guest Relations, a theme park ticketing window, or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. Be sure to bring appropriate
proof of residency.
I know this differs from what you wanted to hear, but hopefully, you can make the best of things and enjoy many future visits as a Floridian. It will be an incredible year in the Disney Parks, and I'm excited you'll be part of the fun. If you're venturing to the Most Magical Place on Earth this summer, don't miss some of the newest offerings, like
Disney Dreams That Soar in
Disney Springs,
Tiana's Bayou Adventure in
Magic Kingdom Park, and
CommuniCore Hall and Plaza in
EPCOT. Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question. If there's anything else we can do to make your trips even more special, don't hesitate to reach out again.
Have a magical day,
Betsy
