I purchased the full meal plan (which includes breakfast lunch and dinner) however I wasn't able to book any places for breakfast - would I be able to get a refund?

    Hi Mikeala,

We are delighted to see you stopping by planDisney!

It sounds like you have purchased a Disney Dining Plan. Although you can use your meals for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this plan includes one Quick-Service and One Table-Service meal per night of stay for each guest in your party three-years old and up. First, let me say that my family considers the Disney Dining Plans to be a good value. If you were not able to get any dining reservations, all is not lost!

My first suggestion would be to keep checking for dining reservations. Reservation availability changes often. We typically just keep checking and reservations open up as we get closer to our trip dates, often they appear a few days prior to our arrival. And, there are so many dining options. A few of our favorites that are not among the hardest to get reservations include Kona Cafe at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian Cafe at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Now, let's talk about the possibility of a refund. If you truly do not want the dining plan any longer and you booked your holiday directly through the Walt Disney Travel Company (International), I suggest that you contact them directly. They can take a look at the specific details of your holiday package and offer guidance. If you booked through a travel agency or tour operator, contact them directly. Be aware that you may have to cancel and rebook. Cancellation fees may apply and that may affect the amount of any refund you may receive if your package is eligible for a refund. In the past, when I wanted to modify a vacation package, the same Special Offers that I had with the original package have not been available at the time I wanted to modify, so the change I was trying to make did not actually save me the amount of money I thought it would had I cancelled and rebooked.

Mikeala, I completely understand the disappointment in not being able to make dining reservations! Reservations can and do open up. We find the dining plans a good value because they also include the resort-refillable mug. We make good use of these at the resort, especially when we are relaxing by the pool!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
