Hi Stacy! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.
You do currently need a theme park reservation. But I have good news for you: You can't select a
theme park reservation for your preferred dates because the
availability calendar doesn't yet extend that far. But it will soon! Reservations are available on a rolling basis, and the window for your visit is almost here. So, check back in a couple of days to book your theme park reservations. You will need them in addition to your standard
admission tickets in order to enter the parks, and popular times of the year can lead to parks or dates filling up. So, you won't want to wait.
A reminder: When you make your theme park reservation, you'll be selecting which park you'd like to begin your day in since you chose the
Park Hopper option. I think you'll love the flexibility of Park Hopper. We like to start the day in one park, switch after lunch, and then switch back for evening entertainment. You can do that!
Another great option is
Disney Genie+, which allows you to schedule return times for select attractions, using Lighting Lane Entrances. You'll spend less time waiting in line and more time focused on the fun. If you didn't add it initially at the time of purchase, you can add it after you scan into the park on the
Disneyland mobile app. It's a very easy process. You'll find a link towards the top of the app's home page to purchase the service. Traveling with little ones, we find the Genie+ service to be a fantastic value for our family.
I hope this helps!
Elizabeth
