Hey there, hi there, ho there, Erica!
You're as welcome as can be to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so glad to help with making plans for your next visit to The Happiest Place on Earth!
If you are feeling like me, you can’t wait to step into the magic again soon. Fortunately, since you already have your theme park tickets in hand, you are well-prepared for when the Disneyland Resort opens its gates again to guests. Normally, you may use regular theme park tickets up until their final date of validity. For wholly
unused multi-day tickets, that is usually up until the date printed on the ticket or until 13 days after the first day of use, whichever comes first. If you are unable to use your tickets before they expire, don't worry. Your wholly unused tickets retain their original value and can usually be exchanged for new, valid tickets. Simply visit a Main Entrance Ticket Booth to make this exchange, paying only the difference between the original ticket value and the current day price of the new ticket.
Since you stated that your tickets expire specifically after May 21, 2020, I suspect you may be able to look forward to a little more pixie dust coming your way. If you purchased the limited-time offer of
SoCal Resident or Kids Everywhere Tickets, you will be happy to learn that the Disneyland Resort is offering to
extend the expiration date of your tickets through December 16, 2021. Yes, that is
next year! While a handful of blockout dates apply (think holiday seasons and typical Spring break dates) you will still be able to make use of those tickets for some time to come. The special SoCal Resident tickets in particular have the added flexibility of not having to be used on consecutive days; the magic can be spread around on any valid date through the extended expiration date.
Tony's Tip: Feel free to scan your theme park tickets into the
Disneyland app. If the tickets are still valid, you may use the app to safely store an electronic version of your tickets until you are ready to use them at the theme parks.
Erica, I know you're anxious to get back to the magic of the Disneyland Resort. I’m glad you are aware of the planned park reservation system for when the theme parks of the Disneyland Resort begin their
phased re-opening. Guests with both valid theme park admission and free park reservations will be able to visit on the day of their reservations. The reservation system is part of the planned policies and procedures to make your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort
safe and Incredible. We don't yet have details about the Disneyland Resort park reservation system. For now, please keep an eye on the
Disneyland Resort website and the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and information.
I hope you'll return to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any more questions you may have, Erica.
See ya real soon!
