Hello Patricia, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question.
It sounds like you are planning a great trip with an off-site stay. You can still enjoy quite a few of the features of MagicBands even though you are not staying at a select Disney Resort Hotel. The tool that will link everything together for you will be setting up a My Disney Experience account for everyone in your travel party. You can manage all of the accounts if you wish or let the adults or anyone over 13 sign up for their own account. Make sure everyone in your travel party is connected to your My Family and Friends list in My Disney Experience.
You can link your tickets to My Disney Experience by clicking on the
My Reservations and Tickets tab and scroll down to link tickets. Enter your Ticket ID numbers, up to 10 at a time and then click Next. Assign your tickets to the members of your Family and Friends List and click next. Confirm your ticket assignments and finalize.
A very similar process will link your purchased MagicBands to your My Disney Experience accounts. Start by clicking on the
MagicBands and Cards tab in My Disney Experience and scroll down passed any currently active MagicBands and click the link button. Click on select a MagicBand to enter the ID number listed on the inside of your purchased MagicBand behind Mickey's head. You can assign the MagicBand to a member of your Family and Friends List and then confirm the assignment. I would recommend entering MagicBand ID numbers one at a time because once you assign a MagicBand to someone, it cannot be deactivated and assigned to someone else. If you need any more help before you arrive, please come back and visit us again.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
