It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cathy!
My family and I love to add the
Disney Dining Plan to our vacation when we travel to Walt Disney World Resort. We really like the ease and convenience of being able to use our credits when and where we want to use them, and of course, the peace of mind of having it all taken care of in advance.
When you book a dining reservation, even when you're using the Dining Plan, you're asked to provide a credit card guarantee in case you miss your reservation or cancel it with less notice than the restaurant has asked for. In most cases, you'll be charged a fee for each person named on the reservation. That no-show fee is significantly less than the value of your Table-Service dining credit, so if you have something come up and have to miss your dining reservation you won't lose any Dining Plan credits. The notable exception to this rule is
Cinderella's Royal Table, which is paid for at the time of booking and must be canceled 48 hours in advance to receive a refund.
I change my mind and my dining reservations a lot in the lead up to my arrival date, so if you're anything like me and you want to modify or cancel a dining reservation, you can do so easily using the
My Disney Experience app or by
calling the Dining Reservations phone number.
I hope this answers your question, Cathy, and let us know if there's anything else we can do to help plan your magical vacation!
