Hi there, Tomoyoshi!
Wow, your visit to the
Happiest Place on Earth is just ten days away. I bet you are firing up that magical countdown clock and starting to feel the pixie dust! You are in for some unforgettable memories, especially now that the 70th Anniversary festivities have begun!
Happy to report that you can upgrade your One-Park Per Day
theme park ticket to a Park Hopper, provided there is theme park reservation availability for that ticket type. Let's take a look together, so you can hopefully enjoy a day in the magic of both Disneyland and California Adventure! When you purchased your ticket, you likely made a theme park reservation for your park day. This is typically done as part of the purchase process on the Disneyland website. Since you are based in Japan, you may have taken this step separately once your ticket was secured through an online travel agency. One thing to note is that all ticket types—One-Park Per Day and Park Hoppers—have a separate pool of theme park reservations for each day. Therefore, if you upgrade, the reservation does not transfer, and you must make a new theme park reservation. Not to worry, though, I took a peek at the availability and, as of today, it is looking open for Park Hoppers on your park day!
When you arrive in California, you will have access to the Disneyland App, where you can make this upgrade with just a few taps! You could also choose to visit the ticket booths in the Main Entrance Esplanade if you'd like the help of a Cast Member. I'd recommend making the upgrade ahead of your park day or before you head in for the day, just to ensure you don't run into any issues with reservation availability.
Once the Disneyland App is downloaded and you have logged in with your account, head to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner to select "My Tickets & Passes". If your current ticket is not yet linked, no problem. Tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner and choose "Link Tickets and Passes". Here, you can scan the barcode of your ticket if you have a hard copy or choose to manually type in the ticket identification number, which is typically located just under the barcode or may be in your ticket purchase confirmation email. Once your ticket is visible in the app, you will see a little pencil icon underneath, with the option to "Change Ticket". This is where you will want to go. Here, you will select the ticket you want to change and be presented with a few options - you can update the number of days, ticket type, or make changes to your reservation date. For your purposes, you will choose "Change Ticket Type" and select "Park Hopper". On the next page, you will be selecting the date for your theme park reservation. Follow the steps from there, and away you go into the magic!
Tomoyoshi, I know this may feel like a lot to take in, but once you are on the ground at the resort and in the app, it becomes pretty intuitive. With just a few taps, you should be all set, provided there is availability. While you're exploring the app, I'd love to tell you about my favorite feature - Mobile Ordering. Tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar and select "Order Food". You will be presented with a list of
quick-service restaurants that have this feature. You select a return window, add your items to your cart, and check out. I love that you can select return windows further into your day so you can make plans for meals and snacks that fit into your schedule. Once it's time for your food, head to the restaurant and tap "I'm Here". In just a minute or two, your food will magically appear!
Enjoy your visit and come back to see us real soon at planDisney!
