Hi i purchased a 3 day ticket the day before magic key sales were announced to be going on sale tomorrrow. My reservation isn’t until March, am I able to upgrade a ticket that hasn’t been “used” yet?

Hey there, hi there, Dustin! Welcome to planDisney. We love helping Guests get the answers to their planning questions!

I am excited to hear you are interested in becoming a Magic Key holder and I approve! I am happy to share with you that your ticket should be eligible for an upgrade to a Magic Key. If your ticket was partially used, but not expired, you would be able to upgrade your ticket to a Magic Key online or through the Disneyland app. Unfortunately, the ticket upgrade information says that a wholly unused ticket would need to be upgraded in person at one of the onsite ticket booths and cannot be upgraded online or in the Disneyland app like partially used tickets. Since the queue opens in just a few hours, I suggest reaching out to Guest Services if you have further questions about your upgrade.

I also want to make sure to mention that when you upgrade your ticket to a Magic Key your reservations do not carry over so I also recommend making sure the Magic Key Reservation Calendar still shows availability for your dates you are hoping to visit and that those dates aren't blocked out for your pass type.

Dustin, I really hope you can upgrade your ticket and unlock a whole lot more magic at Disneyland. We are always here for you whether you are planning your first or fiftieth visit!
