Emilie from TX Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I purchased a 10 day ticket. Can I change that to a 3 day and get refund?

Hello, Emilie. Welcome back to planDisney. We're so happy you keep coming back for answers to your burning Disney vacation questions. We love to help!

Theme park tickets to the Walt Disney World Resort are nontransferable and nonrefundable. While this means you will not be able to downgrade your theme park ticket, you can usually use the amount you've paid for your ticket toward a new theme park ticket should you find other dates where you can get away for more than just 3 days. Just note that if your new theme park ticket is more expensive, you'll be responsible for the difference at the time of purchase and if your new ticket is less expensive, you will not receive a refund for the difference.

If you decide to go this route, you can do it right from the My Disney Experience mobile app. Here's how:

1.) Open up the app, make sure you are logged in, and click on the 3 horizontal lines (☰) in the bottom right-hand corner.

2.) Select "My Tickets & Passes," find your ticket, select it, and tap "Change Ticket."

3.) Follow the prompts to complete the process.

Of course, if you run into any issues along the way, you can call a friendly Cast Member at the resort on the Existing Tickets line and they'd be happy to help!

The future is looking bright for all Disney Parks and experiences, but especially for the Walt Disney World Resort. Not only is the transformation of EPCOT complete, but Tiana's Bayou Adventure just opened in Magic Kingdom Park, and the Country Bears Musical Jamboree will be opening on July 17, 2024! There are also hints of a huge expansion to Magic Kingdom Park in the future that may show us what's beyond Big Thunder Mountain and a possible tropical Americas-themed land coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. While these exciting possibilities are still in development and won't come to fruition for a while, we'll probably be getting some more information about them at the upcoming D23 Expo this August!

Emilie, I hope that you're able to find a solution and you get to enjoy the resort to the fullest when you visit. If you have any other questions, I'm here to help!

There's a great, big, beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day,
    Matt
