Hi there Denise,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! It looks like the date of your planned visit to the Disneyland Resort has passed - sorry we weren't able to answer more quickly!
Currently, you need both valid
theme park tickets and
theme park reservations for each day of your visit to enter one of the parks of the Disneyland Resort. Unfortunately, then, you were correct that if there are no more available theme park reservations then your friend would not be able to visit the parks with you.
Typically, crowds in the parks tend to be a bit lighter after the start of the year in my experience, but I do think that this week in particular is busier due to the
runDisney event this weekend, which would explain why there are so few reservations available.
In the future, you can always change your theme park reservation dates through the
My Plans if your plans are flexible!
If you live in Southern California (specifically ZIP codes 90000-93599) then you could look at the
Southern California Resident Ticket Offer to fit in some more visits with your friends in the first half of the year. Otherwise,
Magic Key Pass sales are re-opening January 10 while supplies last as well! Both are great ways to fit in more trips to the Happiest Place on Earth this year.
Thanks again for your question, Denise! I hope you have a fantastic next visit to the Disneyland Resort.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
