Disney Genie+ service purchase gives Guests access to
Lightning Lane entrances at over 40 attractions throughout the
four theme parks. Depending on your ticket type, you may have the option to add Genie+ for the duration of your ticket in advance. It sounds like that's not the case for your tickets, and you're in good company. I chose not to add Genie+ to my ticket at the time of purchase because I don't think the purchase makes sense for all of my park days. Like you, I must now make my Genie+ purchase each park day. In my experience, Genie+ makes the most sense for full park days where the goal is to experience as many attractions as possible, especially at Magic Kingdom park and Disney's Hollywood Studios. I don't plan on purchasing Genie+ for my EPCOT or Disney's Animal Kingdom park days because I plan to spend a large portion of those days walking the grounds, taking pictures, and enjoying a
table service meal.
Whatever days you decide to purchase Genie+ for your party of three, make the purchase in the
My Disney Experience mobile app by 6:45 a.m. so you can be on the Tip Board ready to book your first Lightning Lane attraction at 7:00 a.m. You can purchase day-of Genie+ by clicking the three small lines at the bottom right of the home screen, clicking "My Genie Day," scrolling down to the purple banner, and clicking "Get Disney Genie+ for Today." Alternately, you can click "Get Started Now" from the "My Genie Day" page, which takes you through the steps of customizing your park preferences before making the purchase. You can even input your park preferences before your park day. For reference, an advance Genie+ purchase doesn't save you any money and a day-of purchase doesn't take long, just make sure everyone's
admission and
park pass reservations are
linked in My Disney Experience and that everyone's connected as
Family and Friends. I also recommend saving a payment method beforehand (three lines --> scroll down --> My Profile --> Payment Method) to expedite the check-out process for all in-app purchases.
