I purchased my 3 day So Cal ticket through AAA. I want to know upgrade to a Magic Key Pass but the App ONLY shows "change ticket" and not upgrade. Can I upgrade this ticket at the ticket booth since not populating in app? Thanks-

    Hi Suzann,

Thanks for visiting planDisney with your question! You stopped by right on time—currently, Inspire, Believe, Enchant, and Imagine passes are available. You’ll want to grab your Magic Key before they’re gone! I was able to snag one last year, and I’ve been having the time of my life. Like you, I was also upgrading from the SoCal Resident 3-Day Ticket, so I have firsthand experience with your question. Like Russel, I’m here to provide you with assistance!

I’m happy to tell you that you can upgrade your 3-Day SoCal ticket to an available Magic Key. The cost of your ticket will go toward the cost of your Magic Key. If you’ve already used your ticket, be sure to upgrade before the stroke of midnight on your last day. After that, your chance to upgrade will be gone. Be aware that when you upgrade to a Magic Key, the pass will be backdated to begin on the day you first used your ticket.  For example, if I first use my SoCal ticket on January 1 and upgrade it on February 1, my Magic Key pass will expire on January 1, 2026—not February 1, 2026.

When you arrive at the park, you can go to Guest Services in either Disneyland or California Adventure to upgrade your ticket. You can also visit a ticket booth in the esplanade between the entrances to both parks. Since you’re a California resident, you qualify for monthly payments, so you won’t have to pay for your pass in full. The Cast Member can help you set that up as well.

I hope this information is helpful, Suzann. Adventure is out there! Your Magic Key is going to unlock some amazing benefits and bring you even closer to the magic. 2025 is going to be an amazing year to visit the parks. Please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelists if you have any more questions.

    See you in the parks!
