Hi! Purchased AP in Sept. & have not used yet. Have park reservations for August. Can we go straight to our first park and scan in from MDE app or do we need to activate them somewhere else first?! Staying on property. Thank you!

It's nice to see you back at planDisney, Amanda!

I'm so excited to hear that you've joined the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder club –– nothing makes me feel like an official Mousketeer quite like scanning my MagicBand at the special Passholder line at park entrances and knowing that a whole year of magic is in store for me.  I hope you love it as much as I do!  Since I'm sure you're eager to hit the ground running when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, let me share a few details about activating your pass to help you prepare.

Before you can use your Walt Disney World Annual Pass for the first time, you'll need to activate it by visiting any theme park ticketing window or Guest Relations location.  There, you'll present your photo ID and a Cast Member will issue you an Annual Passholder card that can be used at the park entrance, just like your MagicBand or Disney MagicMobile pass. After that, the Annual Pass that you purchased in September will reflect your new expiration date and be ready to use for a year of magical adventures.  If you aren't planning to use your Pass on the day you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, you may want to consider dropping by one of the theme parks or Disney Springs to activate it in advance.  That way, everything will be all set up and ready to use for your first day in the parks.  Otherwise, Walt Disney World theme park ticketing windows usually open about an hour before the park does, if you'd like to activate it on the morning of your first park day.

In addition to theme park admission, one of my favorite parts of being a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder is all the special offers, discounts, and experiences that come along with your Annual Pass.  But to take advantage of these exciting perks, keep in mind that Annual Passholders can no longer present their physical Passholder card –– instead, you'll need to create a Disney MagicMobile pass for a digital version of your card that includes its expiration date.  You can create your pass using the My Disney Experience mobile app and it will be saved right in the digital wallet of your smartphone.  With all your Passholder benefits right at your fingertips, I like to think of it as your very own Annual Passholder magic wand!

I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney with your question, Amanda.  I'm wishing you lots of pixie dust and plenty of Annual Passholder magic during your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

    See Ya Real Soon,
    Amy
