Hey there Gerald,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for your question! I'm so glad to hear you purchased a
Magic Key! You are going to have so much fun over the next year making new magical memories at the Disneyland Resort.
In the Pass Expiration section of the
Magic Key Terms & Conditions page, it says that your Pass is activated when used for entry into one of the parks of the Disneyland Resort or first use of your parking benefit in a pay-on-entry lot at the resort.
This means that if you're next planned visit to the Happiest Place on Earth is scheduled for May, then that is when your Magic Key will officially be activated.
If you haven't already, make sure to book your theme park reservations as soon as you're able since these are limited and subject to availability. To do this, first check the
Magic Key calendar to see eligible reservation dates, blockout dates, and current availability. Currently, the Magic Key dates are available for reservation about 90 days out from the current date, so depending on when you're planning on going in May, you'll still need to wait a few more weeks.
When those dates are available, you'll want to sign in to the
Disneyland Resort website with your Disney account and link your Magic Key ID, which is the 18-digit number you received when you purchased yours. After that, you can visit the
Park Reservations page to start the theme park reservation process.
Thanks again for your question, Gerald! I hope you have a fun-filled year visiting the Happiest Place on Earth.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
