Hey there, Patrick! Thanks for swinging by planDisney with your question. I bet you’re super excited to visit the Happiest Place on Earth with your ‘ohana this week!
Patrick, you have a couple of options on how you can manage your day as a group. If everyone plans to stay together all day, you can manage the day from your own
Disneyland mobile app. But my suggestion is that each member of your party download the
Disneyland mobile app and link their ticket in the app. In fact, everyone can link ALL the tickets for the entire party if they choose, as tickets can be linked to multiple accounts at once.
You are correct that each Guest would create their own
Disneyland account using a valid email address. Then, download the Disneyland mobile app, log in, and go to Tickets and Passes to link the tickets there using the ticket ID or by scanning the barcode. Sometimes the easiest way to do this is, have everyone download the Disneyland mobile app and create a log in prior to arrival. Then, once all of you are physically together, they can scan the barcodes of their tickets from your phone directly onto their phones.
Each Guest will also receive a paper ticket upon entering the park for the first time, so if any Guest does not wish to download and use the app, no worries. They will have a physical ticket to use for in and out privileges.
It helps for at least two people in your party to have all the tickets linked, so that if you’re using
Disney Genie+, those “lead” members of your party can make
Lightning Lane selections together for the entire party. (The reason I mentioned two people is in case one person’s phone loses battery or can’t connect to Wi-Fi, there is a backup person to make the selections.) On a side note, I highly recommend Genie+ to save yourselves time waiting in long queues - we always use Genie+, especially when traveling in a group, so we can do more during the day.
Patrick, I’m not sure if you’re aware of
Disability Access Service (DAS) which is designed to support Guests who have difficulty waiting in queues for long periods of time. While DAS does not give you immediate access to attractions, you can request return times for attractions. You can inquire about DAS once you arrive at any Guest Services location, in case this is something your family might be eligible for.
Wishing you a magical visit with your wonderful family!
