Hi there, Patsy! Welcome to planDisney. October is truly one of my favorite times of the year to be at the Happiest Place on Earth. You are just going to love the happy haunts sprinkled throughout both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park with grim grinning ghosts, Mickey pumpkins, and seasonal treats around every corner!
I can see that we are now on the brink of your later park days opening up for reservations! I just took a look at the
calendar, and it looks like there is plenty of availability for all October dates as of today. I can tell you are a Disneyland planner at heart and know that grabbing those
reservations as far in advance as possible is the best way to guarantee entry for your preferred dates.
If you're feeling a little on pins and pixie dust about it, my fellow panelist
Tony had a great tip! He recommends purchasing your ticket to grab those October 8 and 9th reservations and making "place holder reservations" for October 20 and 21. Reservations cannot be modified, but they can be canceled and rescheduled. Let's say you booked reservations for October 8,9,10, and 11th when you purchased your tickets. In a few days when October 20 and 21 are available, you can go ahead and cancel your reservations for the 10th and 11th and make new ones for the 20th and 21st! You can start the process by opening up your Disneyland Mobile App, tapping the"+" in the bottom navigation bar, and selecting "Make a Park Reservation". This will take you to a page where you can "View My Park Reservations" and you will see the option to cancel. Follow the prompts for canceling and then begin the process again to rebook!
With that settled, let's take a look at the
expiration for your multi-day ticket. Just one thing to keep in mind is that a 4--day ticket is valid for 13 days from first use. That means if your first park day is October 8th, you can visit any day between October 8 - October 21. You should be all set!
Can we talk about some SPOOKtacular offerings this fall? Tickets for the
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party go on sale June 30, 2022 ... in just a few days! The party will take place on select nights in September and October at Disney California Adventure Park. This is a separately ticketed event that allows you to mix in with day guests from 3 p.m. with the party getting started at 6 p.m. You'll get to enjoy costumes, special treats, photo opportunities, unique character greetings, and ... of course, your favorite attractions!
Two reasons to put this one on your radar: 1) Disney California Adventure Park will close early to day Guests on party nights. This year's party begins at 6 p.m. so anyone without an Oogie Boogie Bash ticket will need to head out of the park at that time. You'll want to keep this in mind if you have One Park Per Day Tickets. It's best to save your Disney California Adventure day for when there is not an Oogie Boogie party that evening. 2) This event is frightfully fun and is definitely something to consider! If I'm attending the party, I usually do not buy a day ticket and instead spend the day relaxing before heading into the park at 3 p.m.!
Come back to see us if you have any more questions, Patsy!
Happy haunting!
