Hey Howdy Hey Ashleigh and welcome to planDisney!
I am so incredibly excited for your to have your trip planned to visit Walt Disney World Resort in October. This is such a great month to visit the resort for so many reasons. The weather is usually so nice in October with lesser rain chances and temperatures not nearly as hot as the summer months. There are so many things happening during October as well such as the
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival for a full celebration of seasonal food and drink offerings and entertainment that is so much fun, I would highly recommend spending some time in EPCOT! OK, before I get too lost in all of the many happenings, let's talk about the cancelation and rebooking process if you do so happen to need it.
One of the best parts about a trip to Walt Disney World is the flexibility you are given when it comes to needed to modify or change the dates of travel if things come up.
Disney has a great policy when it comes to flexibility for vacation packages which include the purchase of theme park tickets and a room at a Disney Resort Collection hotel but a lot of the details depend on when things happen. If you needed to make a change 31 days or more from your date of arrival, you can do so without penalty. If you needed to change your dates of travel 30 days or less from your dates of travel, you would incur a $50 change fee.
If you did need to cancel your vacation altogether for some reason, similarly your timing would be key. If you cancel 30 or more days from your date of travel, no issues and a full refund. Cancelations from 2 to 29 days from your date of travel will incur a $200.00 cancelation fee and anything less than 2 days would lose the full amount paid with no refund.
If you are thinking about the purchase of
travel insurance, make sure you read the details of the things you are concerned about in the policy. This will further help you feel comfortable if things do come up, just knowing the specifics of what your policy may or may not cover. I know COVID-19 illness has been a big concern with many individuals traveling and many insurance providers have specific language in their policies to address any issues that may come up in this regard.
I hope this information was helpful to give you a little more information about the specifics of cancelations and changes that may need to be made to your reservation. Please feel free to reach back out if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Nick
