Hello there, Samantha!
Welcome to planDisney! October is a delightfully ghoulish time to visit Disneyland Resort, I would love to be your Ghost Host and help you with your question.
You are correct that the
Theme Park Reservation Calendar doesn't show October yet; reservations are typically made available
up to 120 days in advance. So that means October is currently wide open, you'll just want to channel your inner Madame Leota and make sure you keep a close eye on the reservation calendar so you know when your dates open for reservations.
I would definitely recommend booking your hotel now, as the swinging wakes in October attract lots of spirits to the parks. You can purchase your park tickets as part of a package and then make park reservations 120 days in advance, or you can wait to purchase park tickets until the reservation calendar shows your dates and you can verify the availability you want. If you're watching the calendar closely and make reservations right away then you shouldn't have any trouble getting your happy haunts into the parks.
When you purchase your tickets you'll have two options that you can add on:
Disney Genie+ and
Park Hopping. Both of these additions are extremely helpful on busy park days! It's also likely that
Oogie Boogie Bash — A Disney Halloween Party will be happening during your visit, so it's really nice to be able to park hop back over to Disneyland Park when Disney California Adventure Park closes early for the event. Perhaps you'll decide to join Oogie Boogie for the party? If you want to do that (it is a really magical time with special characters, entertainment, and SO much candy) then make sure you watch the
Disney Parks Blog to see when tickets for the event will be available. Those do sell out very quickly!
Samantha, it's a pleasure to have you here...and I hope you'll hurry back if you have
another question that I can help you with! Keep moving forward!
Amanda
