    If I purchase tickets after 1/9/24 will there be meal plans included or is this just a rumor?

    Hi Tina! I'm so excited that you found us here at planDisney. We love to answer all of your Disney vacation questions.

    One of the things I love most about Disney and the Walt Disney World Resort is that they are always listening to Guest feedback to make improvements. In May of this year, a few changes were announced to improve their theme park experience. Guests purchasing standard date-based theme park tickets with dates starting on or after January 9, 2024, will no longer be required to make Theme Park Reservations. Also, more flexibility was given to Annual Passholders and improvements were made to the Disney Genie+ experience. But that's not all!

    Guests who purchase vacation packages with dates starting on or after January 9, 2024, can add on a Disney Dining Plan to their stay. While this is an added expense and not included in the price of tickets, it does offer you the option to pre-pay for your meals while you're at the resort. It makes the vacation feel more all-inclusive and takes some of the worries away about how much you're going to spend on food while enjoying your time at the resort.

    You have two options to choose from: the Disney Dining Plan and the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan.  If you're a more on-the-go type of Guest who just wants to experience all they can and not have to sit down for an extended time for a meal, the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan is likely for you. If you like to slow down and have a meal each day where you are served by a friendly Cast Member, the Disney Dining Plan is likely more your speed!

    Tina, these improvements are likely just the beginning. In fact, they have promised even more changes to the Disney Genie+ Service in 2024. Since I already love this service and never travel to the resort without purchasing it each day, I'm extra excited to see how this will be improved.
