Can we purchase tickets at the gate for Friday, May 12th combined with a Saturday May 13th booking (with Genie +)? It’s a last minute thing and we’re hoping this can work out for us :) 2 adults and 3 kiddos (ages 9,6,4)

    Hello, Kristine,

It’s a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort. So I’m hoping something can work out for you too.

As you are aware, each Guest of the Disneyland Resort theme parks must have both valid theme park admission and a theme park reservation. So, while it is possible to purchase theme park tickets in person at the Disneyland Resort, I highly recommend making the purchase beforehand to ensure that a park reservation can also be secured. The same theme park reservation availability applies to tickets whether they are purchased in person, online, or using the Disneyland mobile app.

Because the number of park reservations is limited, they can and do occasionally run out. But there may still be hope! Perhaps with a little faith, trust, and a sprinkling of pixie dust, you will find reservations become available again. So, if you don’t happen to have flexibility with your dates, I recommend checking the theme park reservation availability calendar often. When other Guests need to change plans for various reasons, their canceled park reservations may become available to you.

If you do have some date flexibility, you may consider shifting to days that still appear to have more availability. Also, note that multi-day theme park tickets do not require you to visit on consecutive days. Most standard multi-day park tickets are valid until 13 days after the first day of use or until all days are used up, whichever comes first. So if you are in Southern California for more than two days, that could be another flexible option to consider.

Tony’s Tip: To make for an even more magical vacation, you may be interested in booking a stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. Not only would you enjoy the immersive environment and amazing amenities available, but you would also gain access to theme park reservations exclusively for hotel Guests. That pool of reservations usually seems to have more availability than the reservations accessible to non-hotel Guests.

Thanks for visiting us at planDisney, Kristine. I’m sending happy thoughts and pixie dust your way so that you may find the path toward the “second star to the right and straight on 'til morning.”
