Hi Michelle,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question. I’m a big fan of all of the events that take place at the
ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and the cheerleading competitions are tons of fun. There’s always a special kind of electricity in the air at any sports competition and, when you combine that with Disney Magic, the result is a truly unique sporting event, one that can only take place at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
If I understand the first part of your question correctly, you’re looking to purchase tickets for the UCA cheer competition itself. Even though it’s taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, which is part of Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll need to speak to the event’s organizers in order to purchase tickets to attend the competition. The
Cheer & Dance section of the ESPN Complex’s website should take you to a link directly to the event’s page, where you’ll be able to find pricing information and availability.
If I understand the second part of your question, you’re wondering whether you need the
Park Hopper Option added to your Theme Park Tickets in order to visit ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex the same day that you visit a Theme Park. I’m happy to say that you can absolutely visit both a Theme Park and attend the cheer competition on the same day this February because the ESPN Complex isn’t considered a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park. That said, if you’re planning to use Disney Transportation, be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the event, because
Disney Bus Transportation likely won't be available to take you directly to ESPN Wide World of Sports from a Theme Park.
I hope I understood your question correctly. If I didn’t, or if you have any other questions about your visit to Walt Disney World Resort this February, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us. We’re always happy to help!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
