Do you purchase your ticket first or make a reservation first?

Hi there, Steve! Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much bringing us your question. I'm so happy to see you here!

As of now, if you're purchasing date-based Walt Disney World Resort tickets (which are the most common type) then you’re in luck! These tickets no longer require Theme Park reservations. Once your tickets are linked to your My Disney account, you’re all set to head straight to the magic during your vacation. Easy as can be!

However, there are some ticket types that still require reservations. For example, Annual Passes, Military Salute tickets, and some Florida Resident tickets do still need a Disney Park Pass reservation in addition to the ticket itself. In those cases, you'll want to purchase the ticket first, and then go ahead and make your Theme Park reservations as soon as possible to secure your preferred parks.

I hope this clears things up, Steve! If you have any other questions as you plan your magical adventure, feel free to reach out again. We’re always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney. Have a magical day!

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
