If I purchase three regular not park hopper day tickets could I later purchase a single ticket as park hopper. Or would it just convert all days to park hopper? thanks So I'd have three one park days and one park hopper day.

Welcome back to planDisney, Julia. It's so nice to see you again!

If you make 2 separate purchases, where one is a 3-day, 1 park per day ticket and the other is a 1-day theme park ticket with the Park Hopper Option, you should have no issue accomplishing what you want to accomplish. Just keep in mind that if you are purchasing a vacation package, 1 of these purchases would need to be a separate, theme park ticket-only purchase. If you try to modify the ticket length within a vacation package, the entire ticket will be changed to include the Park Hopper Option. All that being said, I would highly recommend doing the math beforehand because typically, the more days you add to a ticket, the less expensive the cost is per day and simply buying a 4-day theme park ticket with the Park Hopper Option may prove to be less expensive.

In doing some research for your question, I picked random dates in September and compared theme park ticket pricing for your scenario. It turns out that doing 2 separate purchases of theme park tickets (1 day with the Park Hopper Option and 3 days with 1 park per day) was about $10 more expensive than simply purchasing a 4-day ticket with the Park Hopper Option for the same dates. Keep in mind that this doesn't take into account vacation packages or any discounts or special offers that may be available, but it shows that it's definitely worth looking into. For me, I'd pick the 4-day ticket with the Park Hopper Option even if I was only going to use the Park Hopper Option on 1 day...because 10 bucks is 10 bucks! After all, as a Professional Disney Parks Snacker (did I just make that a thing?), I've got to factor that into my snacking budget for my trip! Plus, you'd have the flexibility of hopping to other parks whenever the mood strikes you for less money. Just grab a pen and paper (and probably a calculator), play around with some options, and see which is actually the most cost-effective! Don't worry, I'm a Reading Specialist and I can still handle this level of Disney Math! You've got this!

Julia, best wishes with planning, and when your magical vacation is here, have the best time! Reach out again with any other questions.

Everything tastes better when it's Mickey-shaped,
