How do I purchase theme park tickets and lighting passes to attractions as a dvc member?

    Kachow, Michael!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for racing by with your question.  How exciting that your Disney vacation is just around the bend. I'll get right to your answer, faster than fast and quicker than quick!

Michael, eligible Disney Vacation Club Members do get discounts on hundreds of select tickets, tours, experiences, dining, and merchandise. However, unfortunately, we do not receive discounts on theme park entrance tickets or Lightning Lane Multi Passes or Single Passes.  So, you would just purchase your theme park tickets and Lightning Lane passes the same way as all Guests, and I am happy to walk you through that.

One thing I do want to note, though, is if you are an on-site Resort Guest, you do have access to purchase your Lightning Lane Multi Passes and Single Passes beginning 7 days in advance of your Resort check-in date. All day Guests have access beginning three days prior to their theme park visit date. You do need to have valid theme park tickets to be able to purchase Lightning Lanes and make your selections. So, let's get you right to the start line so you can do that!

To purchase your theme park tickets, you can do so right from the Walt Disney World website.  First, log in to your My Disney Experience account so that the tickets get linked to your account.  Then, go to the tab that says "Tickets and Parks" and select "Buy Theme Park Tickets." When you go to purchase your tickets, you can select the number of days for which you would like the tickets. Then, you can select the ticket type, such as a single-day ticket, Park Hopper, etc.  And then the dates for which you are purchasing the tickets.

Now, Michael, if you purchase a date-based ticket, you do not need a theme park reservation. Only undated tickets, including Annual Passes, need theme park reservations. For date-based tickets, you select a start date and then you have a window in which you can use the tickets. But, for a multi-day ticket, you do not have to use the tickets on consecutive days.  For example, if I purchase a three-day ticket starting on March 26th, I have until March 30th to use these three ticket days at any time within this window.

Once you have your theme park tickets and you are within 7 days of your Resort check-in date, you can purchase your Lightning Lane Multi Pass and make your first selections, and purchase Lightning Lane Single tickets.  For this part, I find it easier to do this on the phone. Go to your My Disney Experience app, and at the top of the home screen, you should see the "Lightning Lane Multi Pass / Single Pass" tile. Select "Purchase."

First, select the date for which you are purchasing. You can purchase passes for each day of your vacation for up to 10 days as a Disney Resort Hotel Guest. But, you do need to do them one day at a time.

Then, select a theme park. The app will show you the cost of the Multi Pass and the Single Passes offered at your chosen park. Single Passes are for one specific attraction and Multi Passes are for several attractions. Select your pass and click "Continue." Then you pick who you want included in the purchase and the attractions you would like - follow the prompts on this part.

The app will display your selections along with arrival windows for each experience. You can modify the times based on availability. Once you have the attractions and times you want, follow the prompts to complete your purchase and repeat for the days you would like Lightning Lanes.

I hope this helps you, Michael! If you have any further questions, make a pit stop back here and I'll give you a tune-up!
