Hello Jessica,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
It's great to see you're starting to plan for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Perhaps you're even planning to join in all the fun of
"The World’s Most Magical Celebration" in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. That sure would be grand!
We all know that unexpected changes do happen, and so it's good to get an idea for what your options could be in advance of your trip. It's helpful to know that Walt Disney World Resort
theme park tickets are nonrefundable. If your trip plans change, however, you can use your
My Disney Experience account to change the dates of the tickets using the
"My Plans" features. Theme park tickets use a date-based pricing method, and so there could be a difference in the price of the tickets that you would pay when you make the change.
Theme park tickets will be valid for admission for a
set of dates based on the number of days on your ticket, and based on when you start to use the ticket for theme park entry. So for example, if you purchase a 5-Day ticket, that ticket would expire 8 days after the date you select to start using the ticket.
It's also helpful to know that if you purchase a theme park ticket, and if that ticket goes unused and the ticket expires, you can use the price you paid for that ticket to apply it towards the purchase of a new theme park ticket.
Jessica, I hope this information is helpful as you begin to make your plans. I also recommend you follow the
Disney Parks Blog as a fun and helpful way to stay up to date on all the exciting news about the Walt Disney World Resort!
Here's wishing you lots of Disney magic in your day today, Jessica!
