    I am going to purchase for my son the non-expiring 10 pass for Christmas this year (as it seems like the best option for a small vacations). When I purchase this, would I be able to get a magic band for him even if we are not staying at Disney?

    Hello and welcome to the Moms Panel!

    Only Annual Pass Holders and guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort are able to receive Magic Bands.  However, your son will be able to purchase one at any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks or at Downtown Disney upon his arrival.  Once that is done, he will certainly enjoy all the benefits that comes with a Magic Band.
