Hi Nicole, and welcome to planDisney!
This is a great question because a “post-party ticket” can actually mean a few different things depending on what event you’re referring to. You might be talking about a post-fireworks dessert party, a Disney After Hours event such as
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or even a ticketed event tied to something like the
Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend.
The good news is that in most cases, these types of event tickets
can be reassigned to another Guest, as long as both Guests are connected through the Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience. Once you’re linked, you can go into your app or account, locate the ticket in question, and select “Reassign Ticket.” You’ll then be able to choose the new Guest from your Family & Friends list.
In fact, I’m attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year, and just to be sure, I went into my own My Disney Experience account and tested this. I located one of our family’s event tickets, selected “Reassign,” and saw a full list of my connected family members and friends, confirming that the process works exactly as intended.
Now, if for some reason the system won’t allow you to reassign the ticket you’re referring to, I recommend reaching out to the
Walt Disney World Help Center and speaking with a Cast Member on the “Tickets and Hotel Reservations” line. They may be able to assist with transferring it. While tickets are nonrefundable, the value of an unused ticket can often be applied toward the purchase of a new one when the original Guest is ready to visit again.
I hope this clears things up, Nicole! I hope you enjoy whichever special event you’re attending!
Cheers!
Brent
