Hi Taylor, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like you're considering a
Magic Key annual pass. I've had the Inspire Key for a few years now, and absolutely love being able to visit the Disneyland Resort over and over again. Each visit feels like a little sprinkle of pixie dust. Let's set you up for success should you decide to purchase a pass!
Taylor, your Magic Key pass will expire one year from the date you activate it. You'll have a full 12 months to visit the Happiest Place on Earth, regardless of which point during the calendar year you make the purchase. The pass will activate the first time you use it to enter a theme park, or when you use the parking benefit for a fully paid first entry into a pay-on-entry lot. Around 30 days before the pass is set to expire, you'll receive communications about renewing it, in case you want to continue visiting for another year.
I suggest getting your pass soon, as the Magic Key passes are only available while supplies last. At the time of writing this, the
Imagine Key (for Southern California residents) and the
Enchant Key are on sale. Once sales are paused, you'll need to wait until they become available again to get a pass. There is some flexibility, though – you can purchase your pass now but wait to activate it until the date you want to make your first visit. You'll have until a year from the purchase date to do so. Just keep in mind that payment is due at the time of purchase, and, if you are eligible for monthly payments, they will begin on the date you purchase the pass. But you can wait to activate the pass itself.
Taylor, you'll want to be mindful of your
theme park reservations once your pass is active. If you do not enter a theme park on a day you have a reservation for, you'll
receive a no-show. After three no-shows in a 90-day period, you'll be unable to make new park reservations or modify existing park reservations for 30 days. To avoid that, make sure to cancel a theme park reservation by 11:59 p.m. the night before if you don't think you'll be able to make it to the parks.
Be sure to explore the Magic Key Portal on the
Disneyland mobile app or the
Extras Unlocked page on the website to learn about seasonal experiences, special offerings, and exclusive merchandise available to Magic Key holders. You can also check out the dining and merchandise discounts you can unlock with your pass. Here's a tip: when you
mobile order food, it will automatically apply your Magic Key discount.
I hope this information has helped prepare you for getting your very own Magic Key pass. If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
