Can I purchase Silver pass for my Grandchild? She is 12 years old and spends 6 months a year with us here in Fla.

    Hi Richard,

The Florida Resident Silver Pass can be the perfect annual pass for many people, my family included. The Silver Pass is availabe to full-time Florida residents and also to those who reside here during parts of the year. As long as you are a resident and have valid ID, you should have no problems adding a pass for your granddaughter. Only adults must show proof of residency.

Since your granddaughter lives with you half the year, I'm guessing you have some paperwork to show that you are her part-time caretaker or guardian. If so, I would bring a copy of that along when you activate her pass, just in case. I don't believe that would be necessary, but I always like to be prepared for any contingency.

You don't say if you are already passholders. If not, I want to be sure you are aware of the blockout periods for the Silver Pass. It is valid for unlimited entrance to the four theme parks for most of the year except for a few peak weeks: the week before and the week after Easter, two weeks during the Christmas/New Year's holidays, and from early June to early August.

Full details about the benefits of being a passholder are available here

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, Richard. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Enjoy your Disney time with your granddaughter.
