Hi there, Judith!
Welcome to
planDisney, and thanks for bringing us your question about the
Magic Key program at the
Disneyland Resort. It sounds like you already heard the exciting news that Magic Key pass sales resumed this week!
If I understand correctly, Judith, you already have a Magic Key but would like to have a higher-tier pass. While you could buy a second Magic Key and wait until your current one expires to activate it, the new pass is considered a separate purchase, so the credit from your first pass can’t be applied to the new pass’s outstanding monthly payment balance, for example. If you were to upgrade your Magic Key in person at a Disneyland Resort Main Entrance Ticket Booth, the existing monthly payment contract (if you have one) would remain in place as is, and the upgrade amount (the total difference in price between your existing pass and the new one) must be paid in full at that time rather than in monthly installments.
I hope this information answers your question, Judith, but if you need more clarification, please feel free to
write back. Be sure to follow @DisneylandMagicKey on Facebook and Instagram for the latest news about all the
Magic Key benefits available to you during your pixie-dusted year of theme park visits!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
