Hi there Debra, and welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for taking time out of your busy
runDisney training schedule to stop by with your question. Whether you're lacing up your shoes for
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend or polishing your glass slippers for
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, your magical race is right around the corner!
In addition to runDisney events, I like to participate in races near my hometown where the weather doesn't always feel like one of Olaf's warm hugs; I know how helpful those post-race Mylar blankets are! Typically, runDisney distributes complimentary Mylar blankets when temperatures are unseasonably low at the end of the race. Last February, my planDisney pals and I received cool towels at the end of our Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend races since it was on the warmer side when we completed our events. Fingers crossed you experience practically perfect race day weather!
If having a Mylar blanket is an essential part of your pre-race plan, I suggest bringing one from home. Check Amazon or your local outdoor store for a variety of options and sizes. They will probably be called thermal or emergency blankets. One final tip! Since Orlando's weather can fluctuate during winter, I also recommend packing layers to protect from cool temperatures and a disposable poncho in case of rain before or during the race.
I hope this has been helpful, Debra. Be sure to follow the
Disney Parks Blog for updates like this preview of the
2024 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend merchandise. Best wishes for a fantastic race, and we'll see ya real soon!
