We purchase resort reservations with 7 day pass package directly from Disney for May. We would like to upgrade to an annual pass. We were told to upgrade once arrive at the park. When we do that, would it be too late to make park reservations for days 2-7?

    Greetings, Sandy!

Thanks for visiting us at planDisney today, and congratulations on your future upgrade! My family is also currently debating purchasing annual passes for our family. We usually visit once or twice a year, but I’m trying to convince my husband that we technically could visit more often, so the upgrade would be worth it for us. He’s not fully convinced yet, but I’m hoping soon we will be Annual Passholders like you will be shortly!

Sandy, what I recommend doing is watching the annual pass reservation availability. As of now, everything looks good to go. However, I understand things can change, which is probably why you don’t feel your best, Hakuna Matata self. The good news is that your vacation package tickets don’t need a reservation. So you could always use those for the first couple of days, and upgrade towards the end of your seven days, if the calendar becomes busy.  However, to maximize your annual pass benefits, I recommend visiting Guest Services at the start of your trip and speaking to them about your upgrade. The Cast Members there will be happy to help advise you as to when would be the best time to upgrade. This is what we did in March when we first decided on upgrading, and the Cast Members really helped guide us to a smart decision for our family. Hakuna Matata, you are in great hands, Sandy!

As you continue to plan for this visit, I recommend taking a look at all the available dining locations. When my family visits, we like to plan for a few Table-Service meals. Our little ones favor a Character dining experience like Tusker House, while my husband and I opt for something a little more relaxing like Sanaa. The best part about Sanaa is the savannah view! So while our littles aren’t engaging with Characters, they get to dine with animals just feet away. It’s so incredible, and if you haven’t already done so, it's a must-do for sure.

I hope this helps ease your worries as you continue to plan for your visit. If there’s anything else we can help with, we’re all ears!

    Have a magical visit,

    Shantel
