Hi Angela,
It's so nice to see you here at planDisney with another question about a trip to
Walt Disney World. You must be excited! With your trip right around the corner, let's get right to your question about theme park
parking.
When visiting the theme parks, Guests can choose between Standard self-parking and Preferred parking. Preferred parking spots are located closer to the park entrances, making for a much shorter walk. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel enjoy complimentary Standard parking at both the resorts and theme parks. Select Annual Passholders also receive this benefit. If a Disney Resort Guest or Annual Passholder would prefer to park closer, they can upgrade to Preferred parking by paying the difference between the two (it is currently between $15 and $25 per day, and it depends on the season).
I have good news, Angela! I spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that when you pay for Preferred parking, it’s valid at all four theme park parking lots for the entire day. You’ll receive a hang tag and a receipt when you pay - just keep both with you and be ready to show them to the parking attendant when you arrive at your next park. It makes park hopping a little easier when you know you’ll still get that closer spot!
Tip: If you're driving at Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to use the
Car Locator feature in the
My Disney Experience app. It allows you to save your parking spot details so you can easily find your vehicle after a full day of fun in the parks.
I hope this information is helpful to your vacation planning, Angela. Wishing you a fantastic trip to Disney World - happy park hopping!
