While I’m happy to answer your Annual Pass question, I must admit that I’m still coping with the Annual Pass pause for non-Florida residents! I mean, is Alabama really that far from Florida? We should be grandfathered in or something.
Christopher, Walt Disney World has currently paused sales of new
Annual Passes across many of the tiers. However, Florida residents still have access to purchase the
Disney Pixie Dust Annual Pass. I spoke with a Cast Member recently who stated that under the previous Annual Pass program - before the pause - Guests could upgrade their Annual Pass at any time. Thus, if the Annual pass program returns with the same provisions as before the pause, you will have the opportunity to upgrade your selection to a Pirate or Sorcerers pass at any time. Unfortunately, I have no insight into when or whether the Annual Pass program will return. If the program does not return before it’s time to renew your Pixie Dust Pass - assuming you purchase that pass - you will be able to upgrade to a Disney Pirate or Sorcerers pass only if the higher-tiered passes are back available at the time of your upgrade.
No matter what you decide, remember that I’ll be here in Alabama trying to figure out a way to move to Florida and get a Disney Annual Pass!
