Hi there, Laura! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by. I had to get a magical assist from our resident Canadian
Jaqueline who so graciously helped me out with your question!
It sounds like Airmiles is an incredible program for our Canadian friends where you can use rewards points to purchase
theme park tickets - that's a pixie-dusted win in my book! Once you have redeemed your reward points and purchased the ticket online, you will receive an email with all applicable theme park ticket information, including the ticket ID numbers and barcodes. You can actually use this information instantly to link the tickets to your My Disneyland account to make your
theme park reservations and away you go!
Step one is to link the tickets to your account. Open up your
Disneyland Mobile App and tap the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner. Select "Ticket & Passes" and then tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner. Here you should see the option to "Link Tickets & Passes" where you will be able to either scan the barcode you received (if you've printed them out) or just manually enter the ticket confirmation numbers. Once the tickets are linked, you should be able to make reservations! On to step two ...
To make a theme park reservation, head back into your app and tap the "+" in the bottom navigation bar and choose "Make a Park Reservation". On the next page, select "Make Park Reservations" again and follow the prompts. You will be able to make reservations for everyone you have linked to your account at one time! I do recommend locking in reservations even if you only have tentative dates for your trip. Reservations can always be canceled and rescheduled, but they are subject to availability. You can always take a peek at the
theme park reservation calendar to see where things stand. Just remember to toggle to the ticket type you are holding - Park Hoppers or One Park Per Day tickets. The booking window is open for July, so you should be good to go!
Airmiles will usually send along the actual theme park tickets via mail or courier within a few days of purchase. Sometimes, this is not the case. If you do not receive the tickets ahead of time, bring a printed copy of the ticket confirmation email and valid government-issued ID to the Main Entrance Ticket Booth upon arrival and they will provide your theme park tickets if needed.
By the time you arrive in July, the Disneyland Resort will be in full summer swing! All of the nighttime spectaculars will have returned, including the
Main Street Electrical Parade making its 50th-anniversary run! There's even a commemorative finale float which represents the theme of togetherness! I've heard that Guests have two different experiences depending on which side of Main Street, U.S.A. they are viewing it from, so it may be worth catching twice! And don't forget to check out the
Nighttime Spectacular Foodie Guide to EARmark some treats that you just cannot miss!
Laura, I hope this was helpful! We are always here for you at
planDisney.
