Hi there, David, and welcome to planDisney!
As someone who also calls the Sunshine State home, I totally get wanting that flexibility to just pop over to the parks whenever the mood strikes. So here's the scoop on those open-dated tickets - Disney doesn't exactly do the traditional open-dated tickets like they used to, but honestly, the current system isn't too shabby once you get the hang of it!
Currently, all
Walt Disney World tickets are date-based, which I know sounds less flexible at first, but stick with me here because there's actually some good news here!
When you buy your tickets, you'll pick your dates upfront, but here's the thing - you can totally modify those dates later if your plans change! I've done this myself more times than I can count because, let's face it, Florida weather and life in general can be pretty unpredictable. The
My Disney Experience app makes it super easy to switch things around, though you might need to pay a little extra if you're moving to a busier day.
Now, since we're both Florida folks, can I let you in on a little secret? You really should check out those
Florida Resident deals! I'm always amazed at how much we can save, and some of those ticket options give you way more flexibility. Plus, if you're thinking about visiting multiple times throughout the year - and trust me, once you experience EPCOT's festival season, you'll be hooked - an
Annual Pass might be your best friend.
I have to say, there's something pretty magical about being able to drive over to EPCOT on a random Tuesday just because you're craving some good food from World Showcase or want to catch the sunset over Spaceship Earth. Living in Florida definitely has its perks when it comes to Disney magic!
Hope this helps you plan your next
EPCOT adventure, David! Have the most magical day! And don’t hesitate to come back and see us with any more planning questions.
See ya real soon,
Emille
