Hi Mary!
We are delighted to see you stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to visit for a while!
It sounds like you are familiar with the
resort hotel delivery service which is one of the many
benefits offered for guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort. I called to confirm my answer with a Cast Member in Guest Services and she indicated that you can include non-perishable food items with resort delivery. Do check the
operations updates, however, as policies and procedures can change.
My family has used this service a number of times with stays at different resort hotels and our merchandise has arrived in-tact. Having said that, we do think carefully about what we will entrust to resort delivery, what we might
store in a locker, and what we will carry with us through the parks. On our last visit, we traveled to Batuu and found
Savi's Workshop. With the help of a gifted Gatherer, we built lightsabers and joined the Cause. Given the unpredictability of the First Order, it seemed wise to keep our lightsabers close.
We have also used
package pickup and delivery to have merchandise shipped to our home in North Carolina. Our girls always save money to use for souvenirs and we head to
Disney Springs to shop. One year the girls bought giant Stitch and Angel. Since we fly, I did not think we could manage with them on the plane, so we paid to have them shipped. When they arrived on our doorstep, it was a nice little dose of Disney happiness!
Mary, I do have a few final tips - we always carry a backpack or two in the parks to store smaller merchandise if we make purchases. When using resort delivery, sometimes our packages have not been available to pick up on the day we made the purchase. We had to wait until the next day. Keep that in mind as you make your decision. And, if you rent a locker to store items while in the parks, do not forget about those items on the way back to the resort. Been there, done that, no fun. Sprinkling pixie dust trusting that your package pick-up goes perfectly!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
