I want to purchase military tickets on base, but I don't know if the days we can come are even available to make reservations until after I buy the tickets. Is there any way to check before I buy the tickets.

Hello Kirsten, and welcome to planDisney!

As a military spouse and one of the "military mamas" on the panel, I would like to thank you for your service. I'm so glad to hear you're planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort - there is no place I'd rather be, and it's a great place for rest, relaxation, and fun!

First, let's talk about your military theme park tickets. There has not yet been an announcement about military-discounted tickets for the Disneyland Resort in 2021. It's my understanding that some military ticket sales outlets, such as Exchange or MWR offices, may have some 2020 Military Salute tickets on hand, so I recommend calling the ticket offices at any bases near you to see if they have any inventory. If you do locate tickets, note that 2020 Military Salute tickets have had their expiration date extended through December 16, 2021. If you can't find military tickets, you are of course still welcome to purchase regularly-priced Disneyland theme park tickets, and I've got my fingers crossed that an announcement about military tickets for 2021 is coming soon!

As for your Theme Park Reservations, you're right that it may be tricky. Having said that, I just checked the availability calendar, and at this time, the availability looks good for several months (availability is subject to change at any time). You noted you're planning an October arrival, and those days will continue to open up this month - theme park reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance, pending availability. My advice would be to make your reservations as soon as you have your tickets in hand. Military tickets are not date-based, so you will be able to use them on non-consecutive days up until their expiration date.

I hope this helps as you make your plans for a fall visit to the Disneyland Resort, and I'm sending pixie-dust that you can find those military-discounted tickets! Once you have your tickets and reservations made, be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news and fun features. I am always adding to my "must-do Disney" list - I have a Disney visit in a few weeks, and my husband and I were just talking about how in the world we're going to eat all the snacks we want!

Thank you for stopping by, Kirsten. Please come back and see us if you think of any further questions as you do your Disney dreaming.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
