Can I purchase military tickets in advance at a local base for Disney parks? Is a military ID required for entry with those tickets?

    Hi Sheila,

Thank you for reaching out to planDisney! It's great to hear that you're planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort and looking into military tickets.

Yes, you can definitely purchase military tickets in advance at your local base. Authorized military personnel, including active or retired U.S. military members, National Guard, Reservists, and the U.S. Coast Guard, can get these tickets at their base ticket office or through Shades of Green, a resort on Walt Disney World property specifically for military families.

As for the military ID, you'll need to have it with you when you go to the park. The military member or spouse who bought the tickets needs to show their valid military ID at the park entrance the first time you use the tickets. This is to make sure that the tickets are being used by those who are eligible for the military discount.

Also, just a heads up, 4-Day, 5-Day, and 6-Day Disney Military Salute Tickets for Walt Disney World usually need to be activated at the park by the eligible service member or their spouse. This means you'll have to visit a ticket window at the park to activate them before you can start enjoying all the magic.

If you have any more questions or need more help, feel free to ask. We're here to make sure your Disney trip is as magical as can be.

    Have a fantastic visit!

    Best wishes,
