Hi Jeff,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so happy to greet a fellow North Carolinian! Of course, I welcome any opportunity to discuss
Memory Maker and
Disney PhotoPass options at the Walt Disney World Resort.
If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, each person in your party will receive a
MagicBand. When your group takes a photo with a PhotoPass photographer, the photographer will scan one of the MagicBands from someone in your group. As long as you have a My Disney Experience Account and each MagicBand is linked to that account, the photos should be linked to your account online. When we are in the parks, I always check to make sure our photos are populating. Just be aware that sometimes they do not populate immediately.
Even if you are not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, each person in your party should have park admission cards. They can scan those cards with the PhotoPass photographers. So, yes, your party can split up, take photos in different locations and those photos should automatically populate in your My Disney Experience Account.
If you find that you are missing photos, you can always go to a Disney PhotoPass location in the parks and ask a PhotoPass cast member to help locate your photos. You simply need to know the approximate time you took the photo and the general location within the theme park. I have always found missing photos with the help of fantastic cast members!
Jeff, I do hope you purchase Memory Maker. We always do and typically have over 100 photos taken during our trip.
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
