Hi Lauren, welcome to planDisney!
One of my summer goals is to update my family's Walt Disney World Resort scrapbook. I make copies of the pictures from each trip and my kids use teamwork and creativity to showcase our magical adventures. Thanks to
Memory Maker, there are many family photos to choose from. My kids especially like to feature attraction photos where Mom and Dad look silly. Be warned - long hair and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind are a dangerous combination!
You will have no problem purchasing Memory Maker three months before your visit, Lauren. In fact, I encourage it! Consider it one less thing to worry about as you pack and one more thing to get excited about. As an added bonus, purchasing Memory Maker
online at least three days in advance qualifies you for Memory Maker - Advance Purchase, which has a lower price point. When I purchased Memory Maker one month before my April visit, I noted that Memory Maker - Advance Purchase was not available for purchase in the My Disney Experience mobile app.
Make sure you're signed into your My Disney Experience account when you purchase Memory Maker, Lauren, which ensures the entitlement links to your account. The Memory Maker entitlement sits in your account until you activate it during your vacation. To activate Memory Maker, click on any watermarked image in the Photos Section of your My Disney Experience mobile app (three small lines at the bottom right of the home page --> Photos). Click the "Activate My Photos" button and you will be able to download unwatermarked photos from your account. Memory Maker includes unlimited downloads of all Disney PhotoPass media taken within 30 days of activation. All photos expire 45 days from the date they are taken.
Another thing to keep in mind is that only the person to whom the Memory Maker entitlement is linked in My Disney Experience can view and download unwatermarked images, though you can download and share images of up to 25 members of your
Family & Friends List who share media with you. On my family vacations, I download all of the Disney PhotoPass images at the end of each day and put them in a shared folder so my husband can view and share them.
Disney PhotoPass photographers can be found throughout the theme parks and are easy to spot in their green uniforms. Be sure to ask if they have any MagicShots - you never know what may develop!
Hope to see you planning Disney at planDisney again soon, Lauren!
Choose magic,
Jennifer
