Oh Patricia, hi neighbor! Welcome back to planDisney! I love this question because gifting Disney magic is basically my love language. And
Memory Maker? That’s like handing someone a treasure chest full of “remember when…” moments.
Short answer: Yes, you absolutely can purchase Memory Maker as a gift for a relative. When you buy it through your My Disney Experience account, you’ll simply assign it to the lucky person you’re gifting it to. Just make sure you’re connected through
Family & Friends in My Disney Experience so you can designate them as the owner. Once it’s linked, they’ll be the ones with download privileges for all those magical photos and attraction videos captured during their trip.
I recommend doing this from the website on a desktop instead of the app. In my experience, it’s just a lot smoother to navigate for special things like gifting and assigning Memory Maker, and it helps everything link to the right Guest without any hiccups in the magic.
A couple of helpful tips from one Disney-loving/photo-obsessed mama to another: If you’re
purchasing at the advance-purchase price, try to do it at least three days before the visit so everything links smoothly. And remind your relative to scan their MagicBand, ticket, or MagicMobile at every Disney PhotoPass opportunity so nothing gets left out of their gallery. One Memory Maker purchase usually covers everyone linked and sharing media in the traveling party, which is extra pixie dust for families!
I hope this is as sweet a surprise as that feeling when you meet Mickey and say CHEESE together! May every moment be frame-worthy and full of pixie dust!
