I want to purchase Memory Maker in advance with my package. Does it start immediately and only good for 3o days? My reservations aren't until June 7-11th.Can I do this now or need to wait?

Say cheese, Tami! Taking pictures is making memories, and I'm happy to chat with you today about the Memory Maker photo service available at the Walt Disney World Resort - it's a great way to ensure all of your vacation memories are caught on camera and that everyone ends up in the pictures! It's an absolute must for my family on every visit, and has given us so many magical memories to look back on over the years!

When you purchase Memory Maker in advance, it will connect to your My Disney Experience account, but it will not activate automatically, so if your vacation is in June and you purchase now, you will be able to activate the service on your account once you are ready to begin downloading your vacation photos. Once activated, you will be able to download any photos taken within 30 days of the activation. I usually purchase in advance to take advantage of the pre-arrival discount and once we start our vacation, I like to activate the Memory Maker so I can download and share our PhotoPass photos in real time with friends and family back home! Just remember that to take advantage of the pre-arrival pricing, you must purchase Memory Maker at least 3 days before your trip begins!

Once you've made your purchase, the rest is as easy as saying "cheese!" As you visit the parks, keep an eye out for the PhotoPass photographers and jump in line for them to capture your photos. One of my favorite features offered by the PhotoPass photographers in the theme parks is special Magic Shots - I always ask the photographers if they have any magic that they can create! Attraction photos and videos, photos at character meet and greets, and photos taken at experiences like Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and certain dining reservations are also included with your Memory Maker, so you'll never miss a chance to capture the moment!

You can also take advantage of some extra photo opportunities at portrait studios like the Disney PhotoPass Studio in Disney Springs, where you can select from a variety of backgrounds to capture some family photos, or the Royal Portrait Studio inside Sir Mickey's gift shop in Magic Kingdom Park where there are regal photo opportunities fit for a king or queen!

Tami, I hope this is helpful and I hope you take full advantage of this opportunity to capture all of the magic you will make on your summer vacation! Don't forget once you have returned home from your visit, you will need to complete all of your downloads within 45 days, at which point your photos will expire. You can also check out some of the unique photo products and gifts you can create with your magical memories once you return home!

As you continue your countdown to your vacation, come back and let us know if you have any other planning questions! At planDisney, we're always looking to focus on our subjects and aim for the perfect shot at making magic!

    Keep Smiling,
    Alison
