Hello there, Rita!
I’m so glad you found us here at
planDisney and sent your question about the
Disneyland Resort. It sounds like you’re a big fan of the Happiest Place on Earth, and I hope you have another visit planned soon!
It sounds like you’ve heard about Disney’s “Walk of Magical Memories," which invited Guests to purchase a 10-year brick "sponsorship” to become a part of Disneyland history. This program was discontinued in 2011, but most of the hexagon-shaped paving stones, many of which feature families’ names and important dates, remain in place for Guests to view in the Esplanade between the two theme parks. You may have noticed them lining the ground as you entered
Disneyland Park on a past visit. This special installation now acts as a kind of commemorative time capsule.
Plans to allow Guests to purchase new bricks haven’t been announced. I know this might not be the answer you were wishing for, Rita, and I certainly hope a similar opportunity comes up again since I also missed the chance to purchase one many years ago! I suggest keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news about projects and events planned for the Disneyland Resort. You never know when another unique opportunity to leave a mark on the Happiest Place on Earth may come along!
If you're looking for a way to memorialize a loved one or commemorate a special date, ordering a personalized item from
Disney Store could be a nice alternative. Jewelry, glassware, desk items, and picture frames are just a few of the things that can be customized online. You might also want to pick up a personalized holiday ornament during your next visit to the theme parks that can be a special memento to display in your home.
I hope this information is helpful, Rita. Please feel free to
stop by again to ask us more questions. We’d love to help you plan your next pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
