I purchase a magickeeper to use to get into the parks & for the photos however how do I link to my account? The number I'm using on the back of the keeper isn't working. I thought the magicband & keeper could be used as the same thing?

    Hi, Kristin! Welcome to planDisney!

Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is just around the corner! It sounds like you're putting the finishing touches on your plans, so let's help you get everything ship-shape and ready to go!

MagicKeepers are fun accessories that help you use your MagicBand if you don't want to wear it on your wrist. By itself, the MagicKeeper is just an empty holder, but when you add a little piece from your MagicBand, that's when it becomes magical!

If you take a look at your MagicBand, you'll see that there's a center disc with a Mickey Mouse head on it known as the "Icon." That's where the working parts of your MagicBand live. You can pop the Icon out of the wristband with a small screwdriver that was included with your MagicKeeper and then attach the Icon to the MagicKeeper. When you hold it up to the entrance touchpoints or use it for Disney PhotoPass photos, your MagicKeeper then does the job of a MagicBand with the Icon in place. As long as the MagicBand you took the Icon from is linked to your My Disney Experience account, you don't need to do anything else. Just touch and go!

Kristin, if you need help linking your MagicBand, you can always drop by with another question here at planDisney, or give Disney's Guest Relations a call. A Cast Member will be happy to walk you through the process.

I hope this helps you get those last-minute plans in place, Kristin! Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
