I love, love, love MagicBands. I have to get a new one with each visit! Okay, well, I don't
have to, but I really want to! I love sporting them on my wrist and really enjoy their nifty and convenient features. I can use them to scan into the theme parks, redeem any
Lightning Lanes I may have purchased, charge items back to my Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room, and more. Plus, the latest version,
MagicBand+, will light up and interact with the
nighttime spectaculars and certain attractions, as well as when you wave at
some of the statues around the resort. It just adds another layer of magic...right on your wrist!
Currently, if you booked a vacation package (Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room reservation and theme park tickets booked together), you can usually purchase MagicBands ahead of your trip through
My Disney Experience for a discount. If you do not, there are plenty of
merchandise locations around the resort that sell these magical accessories, and you might luck out and find some on sale. And, yes,
select merchandise locations around the resort offer a discount on select merchandise when using your Disney Rewards Visa Card to make a purchase. This is also usually the case at the
Disney Store!
If you
do have a vacation package and want to take advantage of the pre-arrival discount, follow these simple steps:
- Log into your MyDisney Account and select "My MagicBands and Cards" from the My Disney Experience dropdown menu.
- Scroll down and click the "Get Started" button.
- For each Guest for whom you'd like to purchase a MagicBand, click the blue "Select" button under their name.
- Browse the selection and pick the one you'd like by clicking it, inputting your personalization, and pressing the blue "Complete" button.
- If there's a Guest who does not want a MagicBand, you still must go through this process, but instead of selecting a MagicBand when you click the "Select" button, click "Decline a MagicBand" under their name, and select "Decline Pre-Arrival Offer" on the next screen.
- Once you've done this for all of the Guests on your hotel reservation, a blue "Proceed to Checkout" button will appear. Click it and follow the prompts to complete the purchase.
Please note that currently, this process must be completed 11 or more days ahead of your check-in date for it to be shipped to your home and between 6-10 days for it to be shipped to the front desk of your hotel. If you do not complete the process during these timeframes, you will no longer be eligible for a pre-arrival discount. Furthermore, once you complete this process and have declined a MagicBand for a Guest, that Guest will not be eligible for the discount, no matter when you completed the process.
