Welcome to planDisney Sarah! Thank you for stopping by with this question about MagicBand purchases. This is one of my favorite tools for exploring the parks and not having to carry a lot of stuff with you. Well, let’s tap in!
It sounds like you have a stay at a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel coming up shortly. With each stay you get a great pre-arrival discount on
MagicBand+ for everyone in your party. While purchasing these discounted MagicBands you do have to purchase them all at the same time to get the discount. I have had this same situation happen with my family and we ended up not purchasing for the whole family because not everyone needed one. We ordered 3 of 5 guests and got the special pricing. I also learned while planning that trip that you cannot use Disney Gift cards to purchase the discounted MagicBands. You can use the gift cards to purchase regular priced MagicBands, but for the discounted ones you will have to use a different form of payment. If your arrival day is coming up soon and you do plan on ordering these please order them soon. If you would like them to come to your home, make sure you order at least 11 days prior to your arrival date. Guest purchasing them within 6 to 10 days will have them mailed to the resort, and available at the front desk upon check-in. One of my children didn’t like the models that were available at the time and we ended up waiting until our arrival so she can find one that she liked. Which we did, and in that case we used the Disney gift card.
Another benefit of staying inside of the magic this year is all guests will have access to a Disney waterpark on check-in day. The best part about it is there is no cost, it’s free, gratis, zero charge. If that isn’t a great way to splash into your vacation, I don’t know what is. If you arrive early, you can drop off your bags with Bell Services and head out to
Blizzard Beach or
Typhoon Lagoon. Your
My Disney Experience App will tell you when your room is ready and you can head back. You can even check in right from the app. I love talking to the people at the front desk, they know so much about the resort so I will always stop in at the desk when I arrive. Even if it’s just to say hello after I’ve done my online check-in.
