Where can I purchase Magic Bands? If we have old ones, can we connect our tickets for Feb, 2023 to them?

Hiya, Elizabeth. Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to chit-chat about your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation.

You are most certainly welcome to use your old MagicBands from a previous trip while you are at Walt Disney World next year, Elizabeth. However, MagicBands do have a life expectancy of around 2 years. If it's been longer than that, it may still work. I have one from years ago that I still use from time to time. When you get to the Walt Disney World Resort Hotel that you happen to be staying at, you can ask a friendly Cast Member at the front desk to test out your MagicBand to make sure it is still functioning properly. Your old MagicBand should still be linked to your MyDisneyExperience account. If you've already purchased your theme park tickets, all you need to do is make sure they are linked to your MyDisneyExperience account. Then, your old band that is associated with that account should work if the battery is still good. You can check to make sure your old MagicBand is linked and active on your account by logging in to your MyDisneyExperience account. Then you'll go to the "My MagicBands & Cards" section. Once there, you'll scroll down to each person you want to check the MagicBand status for. It will show how many MagicBands are associated with each person and if they are active or inactive.

You can repurchase new MagicBands if you would like if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Under that same "My MagicBands & Cards" section, at the top, there will be a get started section and it will walk you through ordering new MagicBands for your trip. If you decide not to go this route, you can purchase MagicBands at almost every merchandise retail location throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and resort hotels. Linking your new MagicBand is very simple and you'll find all of those directions on the back of the packaging.

I hope this helps, Elizabeth. If you have any more questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'd love to help.

    Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
