Ahoy there, Lizette!
Welcome aboard planDisney! I love that you're already getting everything shipshape for your November cruise—before you know it, you'll be scanning that DisneyBand+ and stepping into a world of magic on the high seas!
When it comes to purchasing a MagicBand+ (or as we like to call them on Disney cruises, a DisneyBand+), the best part is—you don’t have to manually link it to your reservation! It’s all a little bit of faith, trust, and Disney IT magic! Once you arrive at the terminal, the fantastic
Cast Members at check-in will activate it for you and connect it to your account and stateroom—no extra steps required! Just make sure it’s fully charged and in your carry-on (or on your wrist) so you’re ready to go at check-in. Remember, once a MagicBand+ is linked to a Guest’s account,
it cannot be transferred to another Guest.
If you’re planning to stay at Walt Disney World before your cruise, you can set up your MagicBand+ through the My Disney Experience app to use it in the parks. But don’t worry—your cruise setup is completely separate, so there’s no need to link it in advance for the ship. If you want a little extra guidance, the
MagicBand+ Setup website is a great resource.
Now, here’s something to keep in mind if you have kids in the 11-17 age range! The youth clubs,
Edge and Vibe, currently require a sticker on their Key to the World card for access, and DisneyBand+ isn’t used for entry. My own kids fall right into that age group, and while they love their bands for opening the stateroom door and making onboard purchases, they still have to carry their Key to the World card anyway. So depending on how they plan to use their band, you might want to consider whether it’s worth it for them.
I hope this helps as you prepare for your incredible adventure at sea! Before long, you'll be tapping your DisneyBand+ and sailing away into a whole new world of magic. Enjoy every pixie-dusted moment!
Sea ya real soon with luck in the air and magic everywhere,
Dustin
